If you know me, you know I like finding super easy ways to save money and ways that don’t cause much change to my life. Are you the same way?
Recently my husband and I did a review of our budget to figure out any simple ways we could cut costs and let me tell you, these two things are so simple and only take a few minutes but can save you hundreds per year and thousands over the course of the next decade.
Switch your cell phone plan. We just changed companies! We had T-Mobile for the past 10 years and really liked them. They worked when my husband was deployed to Afghanistan. We’ve used them in Alaska, the mountains of Idaho and everywhere in between. We’ve always had great service and the prices were excellent compared to some bigger companies. SO, when I found out that Mint Mobile runs on T-Mobiles network but cost even less I was thrilled. My husband has the unlimited plan which is &15 a month for the first 3 months than $30 per month after that. Since I work from home and can use our WiFi most of the day, I got a 5GB plan for only $15 a month and I haven’t even used all of that data. It’s saving us $35 per month, times 12 months = $420 per year for the same service we had before. Multiple that times 30 years and that’s a $12,600 savings! Switch insurance companies - This past year I did a review of my homeowners insurance because it was going up drastically. I called around to a couple different companies and ended up saving us $2,000 per year on homeowners insurance. It’s a great company and the same coverage just for $2,000 less per year. Recently I had some life insurance clients have me review their policies they had with other companies and give them new quotes and some people were able to save $50-$150 per month! That’s a huge savings over the course of 20 years. Take a few minutes to review these items and see if you can save yourself some money as you walk into 2025.
